My approach weaves together philosophy, awareness, and pedagogy with the aim of co-creating a space for genuine dialogue to take place – an encounter between the self and other(s) in a spirit of responsiveness, compassion, and intellectual curiosity.

The approach utilizes philosophical dialogue to encourage participants to openly, respectfully, and responsively inquire into ideas that are of central importance to what it means to be human. The community of inquiry extends an invitation to engage in dialogue about matters that matter and that we share in common. It also acts as a provocation to think (again) and become curious through a process of questioning. As embodied dialogue, it pays attention to what arises in the here and now and utilizes active silence to connect to non-verbal insights.

The aim is to reach a deeper and more expansive understanding of what we are grappling with and to realize that into living practice (praxis). The method and aim are philosophical but our purposes go beyond philosophy: to flourish in connection with others and the environment that holds us; to become more fully alive and to allow space for others to do so as well.

To cultivate responsibility – the ability to respond to our own calling and the calling of others. To be compassionate when we fail. To be curious how to begin again, better.
